Waynika Caeser

Waynika Caeser discovered chess just three years ago and has quickly established herself as a rising talent in the Western Cape schools circuit. Her competitive journey began at the District East Trials, where she made an immediate impression by finishing 3rd in the combined U17 and U19 girls’ section.

In 2024, Waynika continued her strong progress, taking 2nd place in the Cape Town Metro Schools U19 Girls Division. She then went on to compete in the prestigious Western Cape Individual Championships, where she secured a 5th-place finish. This performance earned her qualification to represent the Western Cape at the Mzansi Inter-Regionals—an important milestone in her developing chess career.

With her determination, steady improvement, and proven results against tough competition, Waynika is a player to watch as she continues to build her presence in South African chess.
